Famine Memorial – Dublin

No event in history has had a more profound effect on Ireland and the worldwide Irish Community than that of the Great Irish Famine (1845-1849). During that time more than one million men, women and children died and a further one and a half million were forced to emigrate.
The Irish Famine Memorial is a powerful tribute to a tragic and significant part of Irish history. It serves as a reminder of what our ancestors endured and what many overcame.
People are invited to walk among the six life-sizedbronze figures and be transported back 150 years
